Databases are designed to store large volumes of data. This data could hold sensitive and personal information about individuals. There are a number of methods that can be used to protect data held in databases. These methods include user access controls, data encryption, regular audits and data anonymisation. Regulations are laws that tell organisations how they must handle personal data to keep it safe and private.
