A noun is a naming word, such as a "dentist" A noun is a person, place or thing If a noun has a specific name of someone or something, it needs a capital letter, such as "Lily" or "England" Sounding out a word before writing helps to spell a word Reading back writing is important to check it is correct and makes sense
