Show transcript
'So' and 'that' are types of joining word. A simple sentence can be stretched with 'so' to give a result to the first idea. A simple sentence can be stretched with 'that' to give more detail about the first idea. Joining the first idea with 'so' or 'that' forms a second idea that is subordinate to the first. Using 'so' or 'that' to stretch a simple sentence forms an adverbial complex sentence.
