Show transcript
The front cover of a text is part of the peritext; this also includes the blurb, endpapers and title page. The peritext can give the readers clues and hints about what is contained in the story. Levi Pinfold uses words and illustrations to show the events of the story and how the characters are feeling. Readers can form personal reflections about texts by engaging with the words and illustrations in a meaningful way. A prediction can be based on the words and illustrations in the text or a reader's own personal experience.
