Show transcript
The suffix -al is the second most common spelling for the 'l' sound. If the root word makes sense by itself, it is often likely to have the suffix -al. The suffix -al often turns nouns into adjectives and often follows the letters 'on' and 'ic'. When the root word ends in ‘e’, remove the ‘e’ and add the suffix. How to spell the curriculum words: correspond and persuade.
