Asking questions about the writer and time of publication can help us understand the perspective of the writer. Asking questions about the genre, audience and publication can help understand the writer’s intentions. Analysing non-fiction is important because it helps us understand why information is being offered to us in that way. Developing a personal response is important because it helps us to see how the text fits with our world view.
