Show transcript
The migration of people from the Caribbean to the UK during the Windrush period was driven by a combination of factors. The song is written from the perspective of someone who had been to London even though Roberts had not yet visited. To determine the purpose and audience of a song, we can consider the music and lyrics of the song. The purpose & audience of songs can change over time; when the context of a song changes, so can its purpose & audience.
