A pantoum is a form of poetry, originating in Malaysia; they are characterised by their repeating lines. The second and fourth lines of one verse are included as the first and third lines of the next verse. Repeated lines in pantoums can gain new context and meaning as they are combined within different verses. The first and third lines of the first verse are mirrored in the final verse in the second and fourth lines. Pupils can make specific language choices to describe the intensity of the rain.
