'Overpowering' is an adjective which means overwhelming or unbearable. 'Pungent' is an adjective which means having a strong smell or sharp taste. 'Putrid' is an adjective which means rotten and decayed. 'Faint', 'musty' and 'toxic' are other adjectives related to smell.
