Show transcript
When a word ending in a normally silent consonant is followed by a mute 'h', the consonant is heard due to liaison. Understanding and responding to a text is a good way to deepen vocabulary knowledge of previously taught words. To make a regular adjective feminine, add an -e. If the masculine form already ends in –e, it does not change. Change adjectives ending -x to -se in the feminine form. Some adjectives are irregular, you need to learn both forms e.g 'beau' and 'belle'.
