Show transcript
The SSC [on] sounds like the 'on' in 'non', meaning 'no' in French. To express going 'to' a place in French, we use 'à' for a town/city, 'en' for feminine countries and 'chez' for homes. These prepositions can also mean 'in' or 'at' when used with the verbs 'arriver', to arrive, and 'habiter' to live. Preposition 'de' means ‘of’ and also replaces the English ‘s for possession, e.g. Lea’s cousin is ‘le cousin de Léa’. When completing an extended listening task, taking notes and/or using a support grid can help understanding.
