Show transcript
Use 'jouer à' to talk about playing sports and 'jouer de' to talk about playing instruments.
'À' combines with 'le'/'les' to form 'au'/'aux' and 'de' combines with 'le'/'les' to form 'du'/'des.'
The 'x' at the end of 'aux' creates liaison before a vowel.
Some verbs require 'à' or 'de' before an infinitive, e.g. 'aider à', 'arrêter de'.
