Show transcript
The SSC [eil/eill] sounds like [è] + 'yih' and [ouil/ouill] like [ou] + 'yih'.
The verb 'sortir' can mean either 'to go out' or 'to take out' depending on the context of the sentence.
To say without something use 'sans' before a noun. To say without doing something use 'sans' before an infinitive verb.
-IR verbs like 'sortir' and 'venir' end in -ons in the 'nous' form and 'ez' in the 'vous' form.
The pattern is the same for the verbs 'dormir', 'partir', 'devenir' and 'revenir'.
