Show transcript
Regular practice of sound-symbol correspondences is important to ensure good pronunciation. The ending of an adjective matches the noun it describes in gender and number. This is called adjective agreement. There are various ways to make an adjective plural, including adding an -s, an -x or changing -al to -aux. Adjectives usually come after the noun, except those that refer to beauty, rank, age, goodness or size (B-R-A-G-S). In French, -re verbs can be divided into groups according to their conjugation patterns.
