The final letter of a word is often silent in French due to SFCs (silent final consonants) and SFes (silent final 'e's).
The verb 'faire' can mean 'to do, doing' or 'to make, making'.
'Faire' can be combined with a range of nouns for activities at home. E.g. 'faire le lit' (to make the bed).
'I do, make' is 'je fais', 'he does, makes' is 'il fait' and 'she does, makes' is 'elle fait'.
