Russia's physical geography includes the Ural Mountains, Siberian Plateau, and vast plains. Russia has diverse landforms, including highlands in the south and flat plains in the north. The Volga River is the longest river in Europe and flows through central Russia. The Kamchatka Peninsula has volcanic landscapes with active volcanoes. The Caspian Sea, located in southern Russia, is the world's largest inland body of water.
