There are two main types of volcano: composite and shield volcanoes.
Composite volcanoes are usually found at destructive plate boundaries and they are highly explosive volcanoes
Shield volcanoes are usually found at constructive plate boundaries.
Some eruptions are explosive, whereas others are effusive.
