I can transcribe and understand German speakers talking in a range of contexts about technology.

It is important to have a firm knowledge of sound-symbol correspondance to transcribe spoken German in a dictation.
The most important thing for successful listening is a secure knowledge of vocabulary.
As well as a broad vocabulary, prediction and being aware of distractors and synonyms are useful listening strategies.
