I can use the correct possessive pronoun to translate ‘its’ and apply my knowledge of present tense modal verbs and the two-verb rule in speaking and writing about a trip.

There are 16 Bundesländer (states) in Germany, 9 in Austria and 26 Kantone (states) in Switzerland. Possessive adjectives are used with nouns to show ownership or belonging. They must agree with the noun which follows. To translate 'its', use 'sein' with masculine or neuter nouns, and 'ihr' with feminine nouns. Modal verbs express ideas of necessity or possibility. Use them with a 2nd verb in the infinitive at the sentence's end. Apply the two-verb rule if there are two verbs in a sentence. The second verb goes to the end.
