Cognates are words that have the same meaning and look the same or very similar to English words. Break compound words down into two or more individual words to work out their meaning. Use previous knowledge and contextual clues from a text to help you work out the meanings of unfamiliar words. In a role-play, you respond to each prompt with a short phrase. You will be addressed using the 'Sie' form of the verb. In a role-play, you will need to ask at least one question.
