I can use the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person singular forms of strong verbs to understand and respond to information about other people's actions.

German vowels (with or without umlauts) can be short or long. Vowels are short when followed by more than one consonant.
Vowels are long when there is a double vowel, followed by 'h', or a single consonant.
Change the vowel in the stem for the 2nd and 3rd person singular forms of strong verbs.
