I can use short multiplication to record regrouping from the 10s to the 100s

If the product of the single digit and the tens number is greater than 100 then you regroup ten tens into one hundred.
Record the additional hundred or hundreds in the hundreds column, one column to the left of the tens digits.
Short multiplication results in only one product being recorded.
There are similarities and differences between the expanded recording and short multiplication.
