I can partition one of the factors in a multiplication equation in different ways using representations.

We can easily calculate multiples of a number by adding on or subtracting that number from an adjacent multiple. Multiplying a number by a group of numbers added together is the same as doing each multiplication separately. A factor can be partitioned to solve multiplication problems efficiently.
