Animals are living things. They can move around and feed themselves by eating plants or other animals.
Different animals have different names. Some animals are more familiar to us than others.
Some animals are kept in the home as pets and looked after by humans.
Wild animals should not be kept as pets, they live freely in the wild and find their own food, water and shelter.
Familiar animals can be compared, sorted and grouped into pets and not pets.
