I can describe the functions of flowers on flowering plants and identify some parts of a flower.

Flowers play an important part in the life cycle of a flowering plant.
The anther is a part of the stamen that produces and holds the dusty pollen. Anthers are male parts of the flower.
The stigma is a female part of the flower and is sticky.
The ovary is where seeds are formed.
Petals are brightly coloured to attract animals, such as insects and birds, to carry pollen to another flower.
