Applying the two rules about final syllable stress enables correct use of accents when transcribing. Listening to familiar language in new contexts and transcribing it deepens vocabulary knowledge. 'Hacer', irregular in its I form ‘hago’, is regular in other forms. We do, make is ‘hacemos’, they do, make is ‘hacen’. Spanish subject pronouns add emphasis or clarity, e.g. nosotros hacemos los deberes, mientras que ellas hacen deporte. ‘We’ is nosotros for boys/men or mixed gender groups, nosotras for girls/women; ‘they’ also has two forms, ellos, ellas.
