I can use indirect object pronouns to indicate who receives what from whom at a birthday.

The SSC [b] as in 'celebrar' and [v] as in 'ver' sound the same in Spanish. Pronouns e.g. me, you, him, her replace nouns to avoid repetition. The direct object directly receives the action of the verb. The indirect object is indirectly affected by the action of the verb. In Spanish, IOPs go before a conjugated verb. For '(to/for) me' we say 'me', for '(to/for) you' we say 'te' and for '(to/for) her, him, it' we say 'le'.
