Show transcript
Víctor Jara was a Chilean songwriter victim of Pinochet's regime due to his political activism and support of democracy. The imperfect tense is used to talk about something that used to happen repeatedly. The verbs 'ir' ('to go, going'), 'ser' ('to be, being') and 'ver' ('to see, seeing') are irregular in the imperfect. In the imperfect tense, -ar verbs have different endings to -er and -ir verbs. In two-verb modal structures, reflexive pronouns can go before the first verb or after the infinitive, attached to it.
