We use the affirmative imperative (a positive command) to tell somebody to do something or give instructions.
For -ar verbs the ending is -a, and for -er and -ir verbs the ending is -e.
Modal verbs express ideas like advice, possibility, or obligation. They are most often followed by an infinitive.
Some key modal verbs to give advice are 'tener que', 'deber' and 'poder'.
