I can use masculine and feminine nouns in the context of stories of immigration.

All nouns in Spanish have grammatical gender. They are either masculine or feminine. Masculine nouns ending in -o change to -a in the feminine form. Nouns ending in -ista, -ente and -ante don’t change spelling in the feminine form.
