When a single 'r' appears within or at the end of a word, it is usually not rolled. If the word begins with a single 'r', it is rolled, just like 'rr'. To talk about something that used to happen repeatedly in the past, we use the imperfect tense. 'Dar' usually translates as 'to give' but it is also used to describe how something makes people feel.
