Show transcript
The verb 'ir' ('to go, going') is irregular in the present tense. ‘Voy’, ‘vas’ and ‘va’ mean ‘I go’, ‘you go’ and ‘she, he, it goes’ respectively. ‘Vamos’, ‘vais’ and ‘van’ mean ‘we go’, ‘you all go’ and ‘they go’. A present-tense form of 'ir' + a + infinitive means 'going to' + infinitive. It expresses future plans. 'Para' + infinitive means 'in order to' + infinitive. It describes a purpose.
