Show transcript
Regular practice of sound-symbol correspondences is essential to ensure good pronunciation. Spanish verb infinitives end in -ar, -er or -ir. The verb ending changes depending on who is doing the action and when. This is conjugation; -er/-ir verbs follow the same present tense conjugation pattern: -o (I), -es (you), -e (she, he). Spanish uses subject pronouns for contrast or emphasis, whereas English always uses them with verbs. The singular subject pronouns in Spanish are 'yo' ('I'), 'tú' ('you singular'), 'él' ('he') and 'ella' ('she').
