Show transcript
When strong vowels [a], [e] and [o] appear next to each other they are pronounced separately, in different syllables. The second person singular of 'estar' is ‘estás’ and the 2nd person plural is ‘estáis’. We use the present continuous to express an ongoing event. It is formed by using 'estar' + the present participle. To mean ‘them’ when referring to a plural feminine object, use the direct object pronoun 'las' before a verb. To mean ‘them’ for a plural masculine object, use the direct object pronoun 'los' before a verb.
