Lesson outcome

I can use the you (singular) and you (plural) forms of 'ser' – 'eres' and 'sois', and of regular -ar verbs in the simple present to talk about work and jobs.

Show transcript
In Spanish, we use the verb 'ser' to talk about traits, including jobs. To say 'you are', use 'eres', and to say 'you all are', use 'sois'. The -ity at the end of an English word is often -idad in Spanish, e.g. 'tranquility' - 'tranquilidad'. To refer to 'you' for one person with a present tense -ar verb, use the verb ending -as, e.g. 'buscas'. To refer to 'you' for two or more people with a present tense -ar verb, use the verb ending -áis, e.g. 'buscáis'.
