Show transcript
When an adjective describes a woman or girl, its spelling and sound can change. This is called the feminine form. The most common change is to add an 'e' to the adjective to make the feminine form. Adding 'e' to an adjective can change the pronunciation. An 'e' following a consonant means we do hear the consonant. Useful adjectives are anglais (English), français (French), grand (tall), petit (short). We add 'e' for feminine forms. [a] sounds like 'animal'.
