Show transcript
The letters 'd', 's', 't' and 'x' are usually silent at the end of words in French. The plural forms of être are 'nous sommes', (we are) 'vous êtes' (you are) and 'ils/elles' sont (they are). The most common adjective agreement pattern for plural adjectives is the addition of -s. Adjectives already ending -s/-x don't change + masculine plural adjectives ending -al change to aux in the plural form.
