Show transcript
Significant urban sprawl in the Liverpool City Region has been prevented by extensive greenbelt land. Unprotected areas that have been developed include areas within and around Speke, Croxteth Park, Halewood and Aigburth. Commuter settlements often develop in the rural-urban fringe and are desirable due to housing and good transport. There are positive and negative impacts of urban sprawl on the rural-urban fringe.
