Show transcript
The stress falls on the separable prefix of separable verbs.
Separable verbs are made up of two parts: a prefix and the main verb.
In the present tense, the prefix moves to the end of the clause.
In the perfect tense, the past participle is made up of the prefix and the base past participle.
In word order three clauses, the prefix and verb join up in separable verbs.
