Show transcript
Add ‘-keit’ or '-heit' to adjectives to make feminine nouns. Nouns ending in '-heit' or '-keit' are usually translated into equivalent English nouns ending in '-ty' or '-ness'. Most German adjectives can be used as adverbs. English adjectives and adverbs differ, so care must be taken when translating German adjectives used as adverbs. In extended writing, it is important to reference three different time frames: past, present, and future.
