I can identify engagement patterns of different social groups and describe ways to increase participation for priority groups.

Gender can influence participation due to stereotypes and opportunities. Age can impact the type of activities individuals engage in and their level of participation. Socio-economic status can affect the opportunities individuals have to take part in physical activity. Ethnicity, religion, and culture can affect access and attitudes towards sports. Disabilities can influence the type of sports and level of participation, with adaptations often needed.
