The verb 'dar' means 'to give, giving'. It is an irregular verb in its 1st person singular 'I' form, 'doy'.
The other present tense forms of 'dar' are regular.
The verb 'dar' can also be used to describe how something makes people feel. English uses 'to be' + adjective for this.
